Engineering Intelligence in Action: Neural Concept Connect 2024 Recap

Last month we hosted the first in-person edition of Neural Concept Connect in Geneva, where industry experts, users, partners, and thought leaders converged to explore the intersection of AI and Engineering. With more than 100 professionals from the US, Asia, and Europe in attendance, guests had the opportunity to collaborate and share insights, delve deeper into the latest advancements in engineering, and forge meaningful connections across sectors. 

Our lineup of presentations from customers, partners, and keynote speakers showcased the latest advancements in Engineering Intelligence across various industries - from predictions on the future of automotive design to the optimization of power module cooling to the latest in deep learning research. 

Here’s a rundown of how the event unfolded:

Keynote Insights: The event kicked off with a compelling keynote speech by Christoph Hasse, Senior Scientific Software Engineer at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, sharing the latest insights on commercial fusion energy delivery. 

Sector-Specific Applications: Presentations from our users and partners, including Rescale, shed light on how Neural Concept’s physics-informed 3D deep learning platform is being applied across key engineering sectors. Attendees gained valuable insights into the real-world applications of AI-driven engineering solutions, and their impact.

Future Perspectives: Neural Concept’s CEO and co-founder, Pierre Baqué, shared his vision for the future of Neural Concept and the role of AI in shaping the engineering landscape. 

Cutting-Edge Research: François Fleuret, Head Professor of the Machine Learning Group at the University of Geneva and co-founder of Neural Concept, presented the latest deep learning research. His presentation provided attendees with a glimpse into the innovative research driving advancements in AI technology.

Setting a New Standard: Théophille Allard, CTO of Neural Concept, discussed how Neural Concept is establishing a new standard for CAE data scientists. His presentation highlighted the transformative impact of AI on engineering workflows and the benefits of leveraging Neural Concept’s platform.

AI in Action: We were thrilled to have SP80 and Altairbike on-site, who demonstrated how AI is revolutionizing elite cycling and sailing. Their work showcased how AI-driven solutions are driving innovation and achieving record-breaking results at the highest level.

Audience's Choice for Most Impactful Presentation: Peter Kroner took the honors for his compelling presentation, voted by the attendees. He presented a clear vision for the automotive industry’s future and MAHLE's success in integrating AI into its product design processes.

Expert NC Bootcamp: In addition to the conference, Neural Concept’s Bootcamp was an opportunity to recognize and elevate our community of CAE engineers and data scientists. Over an intensive 2 days training programme, participants acquired comprehensive technical skills to create complete engineering intelligence workflows using Neural Concept.
