Head of R&D
Jonathan received an engineering degree and Masters degree in applied mathematics from Ecole Polytechnique. After obtaining his PhD in mathematics from University Paris V under the supervision of Pr. Mathieu Rosenbaum and CFM chairman Jean-Philippe Bouchaud, he joined the music industry start-up Sonalytic where he developed cutting-edge machine-learning-based techniques for audio identification. The start-up was later acquired by Spotify, where he served as senior research scientist and led various research projects in the areas of music analysis and music creation. He is now director of R&D at Neural Concept.
Co-founder & CEO
Pierre received an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and a Masters degree in Operations Research from Ecole Polytechnique. After working as an Engineer for Credit-Suisse in London, he joined the Computer Vision Laboratory at EPFL. He got his doctoral degree in early 2018 under the supervision of Prof. Pascual Fua and Francois Fleuret. His research focused on Deep Structured Learning and Variational Inference applied to Computer Vision. As a result of his doctoral thesis, Pierre took the leap as an entrepreneur and founded Neural Concept in 2018.
Théophile holds a master’s from Mines ParisTech, with a specialization in mathematics and machine learning. Previously, he worked in other early stage start-ups, going from developing a 3D bioprinting technology for cancer research, for which he co-authored a patent, to creating machine-learning algorithms to monitor and reduce buildings energy consumption. He is now leading the engineering effort at Neural Concept.
Thomas von Tschammer
Director of Operations
Thomas is a student from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, specialization in Aero and Hydrodynamics. He had a successful experience as vice-president of the Junior Entreprise EPFL and worked in both the G-Lab UpCourtine and the Computer Vision Lab of EPFL.
Software Engineer in charge of performance
After graduating from Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU) with honors in the specialization Computer-aided design (CAD), Artem worked as Software Engineer for one year in the Research Institute of Precision Instruments (which is part of Russian Space Systems). After that, he pursued his education in École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Computer Science. In the meantime, he was working with Neural Concept for semester projects, as intern, during thesis. After his graduation he continued working full time in the company.
Lead Software Engineer
After graduating from the Indian Institute of Science with a master’s degree in systems sciences and Automation, Saswata worked as a software engineer for over 5 years at Amazon and later at AWS. At AWS, he was part of the algorithms team which build AWS Sagemaker. At Neural Concept, Saswata is working on building the cloud platform for training 3D deep learning models.
Luca holds a master degree in Computational Science and Engineering from EPFL, a master degree in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from EPFL. He interned for Startups, for ESA and CERN and collaborated with Neural Concept while studying. He is now Application Engineer at Neural Concept.
Software & Algorithm Developer
After obtaining his BSc in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Dmitry pursued a PhD degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering at Princeton University. His research focused on nonlinear dynamics and the applications of optimization and unsupervised learning in the design of new materials. Upon graduation he moved to Switzerland to work as a deep learning engineer designing text-to-speech systems before joining Neural Concept as a research engineer.
Senior Technology Evangelist
Anthony graduated in Physics from the University of Turin (Italy). He spent some time there as a researcher on optimal control and non-equilibrium thermodynamics. Before joining Neural Concept, he has been 30 years in the field of Computational Fluid Dynamics in several engineering and sales roles as a senior researcher, engineering director and sales manager. With substantial experience in Simulation and burning enthusiasm for Deep Learning, Anthony embraced enthusiastically Neural Concept with the mission of helping companies and organizations across all the different industries and simulation applications.
Machine Learning Research Intern
Artem holds a Bachelors degree in Moscow Institute of Physics and Technologies and currently getting a degree in Data Science EPFL. Starting his work in EPFL Computer Vision laboratory as a Research Assistant took part in a development of AI-driven CFD optimisation and continued his work in Neural Concept as Research Intern.
Machine Learning Research Intern
Tanguy is a student at MINES ParisTech pursuing a master’s degree with a major in Data Science and Machine Learning. He is currently doing a gap year to discover the professional world. Tanguy joined Neural Concept as a research scientist intern and he works on transfer learning models.

Accounting and Finance Manager
Deniz is a young graduate of a Master’s degree in Accounting, Control and Finance from HEC Lausanne (UNIL) and has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Fribourg. At Neural Concept, he takes care of a multitude of tasks including accounting, financial reporting, invoicing, payroll, taxes and financial planning.
Legal and Administrative Manager
Carole has a bachelor’s degree in law and she is currently a master’s student in international law and litigation law. She takes care of the adminsitratve part and the some legal aspects of Neural Concept, in particular all that relates to the residence and work permits. Persevering, difficult questions do not scare her !
François Fleuret received his PhD degree in Mathematics from the University of Paris VI in 2000, and the habilitation degree in Mathematics from the University of Paris XIII in 2006. He is the head of the Computer Vision and Machine Learning group at the Idiap Research Institute, Switzerland. Prior to that, he held positions at the University of Chicago, USA, at the Institut de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA), France, and at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He serves as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and is expert for several European funding agencies. He has more than 20 years of experience in R&D development in Deep learning and statistical learning.
Pascal Fua, who is Operations and Scientific advisor, received an engineering degree from Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, in 1984 and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Orsay in 1989. He then worked at SRI International and INRIA Sophia-Antipolis as a Computer Scientist. He joined EPFL in 1996 where he is now a Professor in the School of Computer and Communication Science and heads the Computer Vision Laboratory. Pascal brings more than 8 years of experience in business and operations acquired through his experienced as co-founder of two successful spinoff companies: Pix4D and PlayfulVision.
Flavio has spent more than two decades in the United States, as a student, researcher, and lecturer in the Graduate Aeronautical Laboratories at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech, Pasadena, USA) as well as a research engineer at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (Pasadena, USA). Since mid-2000, he has been in Switzerland teaching and conducting research in fluid mechanics and aerodynamics at HEPIA (HES-SO University of Applied Sciences). He is also lecturing (Compressible Fluid Mechanics) at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Senior aerospace application engineer working at EXA Corporation recently acquired by Dassault Systemes. EXA provides a massively parallel cloud-based computational fluid dynamics simulation solution based on the Lattice Boltzmann equation. He is specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics for aerodynamics and aeroacoutics studies applied to Aerospace applications.
